Occasionally when I have something to sell, I like to post it to other sites to see what kind of response I get.
I usually don't get a response because most local sites simply don't get the number of monthly users that we do.
However, I do get quite a number of responses (negative that is) from craigslist.
Here is an example spam email that I get multiple times a week from craigslist.

This is just a reminder to you that we only approve users that live in Alabama. And we currently
only advertise in the Birmingham metro area. Actually, we do occasionally approve animal breeders
who live close by in GA, MS, and TN because we know some of you are willing to travel to buy the right pet.
So when you post with us you don't have to worry about receiving spam from some guy in New York or India
or Guam or Sri Lanka.
The only mail you're going to receive will be from the guy down the road that wants to buy your pink slippers.
Ok, it may not be a guy or pink slippers but you get the point. :) |
